Lilacs, Glorious Lilacs

Although our spring has been much delayed this year, it has now arrived in earnest. And this ancient old Lilac is perfuming my back yard with a heavenly scent, certainly much lovelier than the aroma the dogs create when they're out there:

It's been blooming for a couple of weeks now and still going strong. The Lilacs up at the farm are just beginning to bloom:

Lilacs are an old fashioned pleasure, providing a sort of spiritual journey back in time, a connection with generations gone by:

And the dogs, of course, love to play in the backyard and run around that old Lilac bush:
