I was on my way back from photographing Nipper, the giant RCA dog (see the previous 2 day's posts) when down the road a few blocks I spotted the Miss Albany Diner. It was closed and falling rapidly into disrepair so I did not take a photo of it, but I had several in my files from a couple of years ago. I'm glad that I had a chance to eat there in better times:
The Miss Albany Diner is, like Nipper, a beloved Albany landmark. It was featured in the movie, "Ironweed" and is listed on the National Register Of Historic Places:
I only had two photos of my own, and those from several years ago, so I got another one from the Internet. I suppose that this diner will not be reopened, but many of us in the Albany area remember it fondly. Notice the big cow head above the diner. Since we're just a couple of blocks down the road from a giant dog, perhaps a theme is emerging:
