I'd just arrived at the farm on Thanksgiving day and inspected all the terrific work which had been done to the barn. The next order of business was to take the dogs for a good walk after their long stint locked in the back of the car. So we set out for the north hay field. Wren resisted, so I carried her to the far end of the field. I knew she'd be more willing to follow me then as the distance back to the house would discourage her from making a break for it. Wally plopped himself down in the grass and declined to come with us. I don't know why, but he was otherwise good so I let him be.
