There is an unusual flower which I have seen only in one place in my lifetime, and that is growing up from the cracks in the blacktop at my Albany house. It is Asiatic Dayflower, Commelina communis. It's an alien import although there are two native species listed in my field guide. It's a member of the Spiderwort family:
