It was a beautiful day and I had a lot of work to do around the farm, but I was in the mood for a driving tour. So I jumped in the car and drove to Cemetery Road in the town of Lawrence to see what I could see. It was wonderfully rural, and my first photo was of this handsome horse:
A donkey, on the same property as the horse:
And more horses, off in the field beyond the trees:
There were handsome, well kept homes:
And colorful dairy cows, lounging beside the road:
More cows, part of the same herd:
An old country home behind split rail fence and big, old maples:
Classic, red barns:
And the Hillcrest Cemetery:
I didn't stop to investigate, but some of the gravestones looked very old:
This home sat far off the road and had a second floor balcony from which to enjoy the surrounding trees and fields:
A nice home with a handsome front porch. There was still more to see on Cemetery Road, though, and I'll post Part 2 tomorrow:
