The Marshy Part Of The Rutland Trail-Part 2

The dogs and I were enjoying a fun romp on a section of the Rutland trail which passes through marshes and wetlands (see also Part 1, posted yesterday):

There was water on both sides of the trail and Daphne felt she needed a close-up view:

The whole area had the feel of a coastal estuary and it was spectacularly beautiful. I'm sorry now that I did not get more photos such as this one, for this is how much of it looked. We got to a section where the water on the right was pouring across the trail into the body of water on the left. It was about a foot deep over the trail and only Seamus was willing to wade through it. As for me, I turned around and began returning the way we'd come:

But as always, the dogs were just as happy to travel one direction as the other. It was all fun for them:

With so much water on both sides of the trail, there wasn't much exploring to be done:

Jack, however, felt the need to check out the water. He quickly changed his mind, probably because it was so cold:

So we made our way back toward the car:

We again passed by the beaver marsh and the beaver lodge we'd seen on our way in:

And the dogs zigzagged back and forth across the trail, playing and sniffing everything as they went:

But this was a short hike and we soon reached our parked car. There were still farm chores to do when I got home, so we all climbed into the car and headed home:
