Descending Toward Elizabethtown

I was driving from the Lake Champlain area westward on Route 9N into the Adirondacks on my way to the farm. I'd taken a detour up Hurricane Mountain Road and the dogs, now lounging comfortably in the back of the car, had taken a bathroom and exercise break at the end of the road. Now descending into the Keene Valley toward beautiful little Elizabethtown, I was seeing great scenic panoramas of the mountains ahead:

I kept stopping on the shoulder of the road to snap photos and I present them here for you to see. It was a glorious day, with the sky as beautiful as the mountains:

The high peaks to the west were splendid, but smaller mountains ran right alongside the road and they deserved a photo also:

I wish now that I'd taken some photos of Elizabethtown, but I hope to have other opportunities in the future. In this photo, we're almost to the town. The mountains ahead are where we'll be driving shortly:

When the highway intersected Route 73, I was back on my most commonly traveled route to the farm. The weather was warm enough for some of the ice to be melting and the sunshine was putting everyone into a good mood:
