I'd driven to the end of Converse Road and then turned around to photograph the opposite side of the road, beginning with this simple home with a very clever carport:
An older home with the small, upper story windows once common in homes:
A small but modern cabin style home built close to an ancient, abandoned house. It looked as if the owners had rebuilt instead of remodeling:
A modular with a wheelchair ramp:
And another old, abandoned home. I'd love to check it out someday. There were no "No Trespassing" signs, so maybe I will. And don't neglect to notice that magnificent, ancient maple tree:
A nice cottage beneath another venerable old Maple:
And then, to my surprise, I saw that Fort Jackson had a park. I hope to check out the park some day also (when it's warmer):
Another modern modular:
And a traditional older home, surrounded by apple trees:
This home had a giant pile of firewood, a wonderful fence, a parked tractor with a scarecrow driver and an American flag:
I thought I'd seen all of Fort Jackson, but apparently I'd missed a great deal of it. I was enjoying this discovery tour. I'll post Chapter 3 tomorrow:
Cool blog! I'm from the northeast as well but reside in Ohio. Check out my botany blog sometime if you enjoy wild native plants of the midwest.
