I'd begun my driving tour of County Route 47 at the intersection of Route 11B and was driving north to Route 11. I knew that I was nearing my turnoff when I passed this farm yard full of equipment:
This garage/outbuilding had a row of deer antlers across the top of the door. Apparently the owner was a successful hunter:
This home was fascinating. The bottom half was built of logs, while the top half had clapboard siding. I don't suppose they'd have sided over only half of the logs, so perhaps it used to be a one story log cabin and they added a second story. At any rate, I found it especially appealing:
A neat and trim country home:
And an old style farm house:
A Quonset style barn with a khaki Jeep out front:
A friendly looking home with three vehicles parked in the driveway:
I passed through some heavily wooded areas and then saw this sign, explaining that I was in the Buckton State Forest:
I was almost to Route 11 when I photographed this old structure which clearly had collapsed many years ago. I've seen it many times before and always assumed it had been a barn, but this time I noticed that it had been a house. If you click to enlarge the photo, you can see evidence of old clapboards, doors and windows:
And at the very corner of Route 11 was this magnificent old barn. This was the end of my driving tour, and I put my camera away and continued on to do my shopping:
