A Return To Frontier Town's Forgotten Village! - Part 2

We were on our way up to the farm on a Sunday morning and had stopped at the abandoned Frontier Town in the Adirondacks (see yesterday's post). The dogs and I walked the circular "road" through the old village in the forest, checking everything out:

Fallen White Pine logs gave the dogs places to get up off the ground have have a look-see:

We'd been inside all the buildings on previous visits and there hadn't been much to see, so this time we stayed outside and just enjoyed the forest and the old log buildings:

Fergus hopped up onto a log near the old church:

And then we continued on our way, exploring the whole village:

This was a tourist attraction, not a real town. But it's now become a ghost town as real as anything I've ever seen in the western states:

Great fun, happy dogs, outdoor adventure:

The old log fort:

And the old log church:

We continued on around the circle until we could again see the storefronts. This was where we'd begun:

And this was a new place with lots of new, interesting smells for the dogs, a veritable bonanza of fun:

But as always, this was only a rest stop, and we had many miles yet to drive. So I called the dogs back to the car, got them loaded in and counted noses several times. Then we drove back out to the highway and continued our journey northward:
