On Tuesday morning it was time to drive back to Albany and we left early in the morning. I had gotten rather far ahead of myself with my photo taking so decided not to take any pictures at all on the way home. But when we stopped for a rest stop in the Debar Wild Forest near the Hays Brook Horse Trail, it began to snow. It wasn't sticking, but it was lovely and I grabbed my camera. Alas, the snow flakes were tiny and don't show in any of the photos I took:
But the dogs had lots of fun. The younger pooches ran ahead into the forest and I hung back, coaxing deaf old Winky and blind old Wally to follow us:
And once we were all in the forest, the dogs had lots of fun:
Seamus joined Clover and Daphne at some particularly fascinating smell:
And then the two Papillons went racing off together through the trees:
I went back toward the car to again encourage the oldsters:
While the younger dogs all went exploring:
Madeline, still new and a bit unsure of herself, stayed back with me and the two old dogs. I don't think she wanted me to get more than a few feet away from her:
And all the while, a lovely light snow was falling. We'd had a good rest stop and I called the dogs back to the car, promising myself I'd take no more pictures on the way home:
