They have widely different personalities. Blue is shy and cautious - except where food is involved. When there is food, this meek little guy suddenly becomes warlike. He's the reason I separate them at breakfast time:
Remy is alert, intelligent, sociable and playful. He's the reason I say they think they're wild stallions:
Who, me a wild stallion?
Remy runs to greet me when I enter the pasture and no person or animal sneaks onto the property that he doesn't spot immediately and keep an eye on:
Blue is happy being comfortable:
They were born only ten days apart and have never been separated. Their third birthdays are in May (though I've forgotten the exact dates):
Blue sometimes plays wildly and sometimes acts as if his feet hurt or he is having trouble seeing. I've been watching him to be sure there is no medical problem and so far haven't seen one. Perhaps it's just his cautious personality:
Remy regards me as his human playmate. He's sometimes happy to be hugged and kissed, but other times he wants to play like the wild stallion he thinks he is. He'd love it if I'd chase him while he tried to kick me (as happens with Blue sometimes). Toward that end, he tries to steal any tool I'm using or my hat:
But both boys are happy with our slowly improving weather:
Remy would love a job to do, something to keep him involved with people and work off his excess energy. But he's also happy to be a pampered pet. Even wild stallions like to be loved and to live in comfort:
Remy and Blue are both very cute! I will always feel grateful for the animal behavior I learned about simply by living on my parents' farm. I remember our cows, especially, having different personalities. From Ohio
