The Tri-Town Winter Carnival Parade

It had been a busy morning. I'd done the chores, plowed my driveway, purchased cattle feed and diesel fuel, and taken a winter walk in the nearby state forest. But I'd learned at the feed store that the local Tri-Town Winter Carnival parade was about to begin and I didn't want to miss it. So I found myself a parking place at the edge of the road and got out my camera. The American Legion led the parade:

They began in Brasher Falls and marched across the bridge over the St. Regis River (which you see in the photo) and all the way to Winthrop, perhaps a mile or two:

It was a small but enthusiastic parade, with a few fire trucks, ambulances and cars with town officials. The three towns involved were Brasher, Stockholm and Lawrence:

Cubby T. Clown had two costumed men inside. I don't know which one was Cubby - or if they took turns:

These, apparently, were the king, queen and royal court of the Tri-Town Winter Carnival:

Famous American women plus a wine tasting. What's not to like?:

The Carnival's theme was "Proud To Be An American" and there were quite a few patriotic marchers:

The Lion's Club food drive for the local food pantry:

I thought that was a bear, but I just now realized he had to have been a lion:

More patriotism:

Local Girl Scouts. It's a good thing they weren't selling cookies or I might have bought some. As much as I'd have liked to support them, I didn't need the calories:

OK, I know Uncle Sam when I see him, but who was that bullet shaped, yellow figure? I had no clue - and never did find out. Nevertheless, it was a fun and colorful bit of local life and I enjoyed it very much. I hope you did also:
