Once I'd shoveled the snow away from the door and plugged in the tractor's block heater, I unloaded the car and let the dogs into the farm house. I turned up the heat and we all began to get comfy:
Madeline and Clover have a favorite position just beneath a kitchen window:
I heard a horse out on the road and opened the window to snap a photo of a passing Amish buggy:
Winky is getting older and more decrepit with each trip, but he still has fun and still seems to enjoy our adventures:
I put down some rawhide chewies in the bedroom:
And a baby gate to prevent old Wally and Winky from wandering out and falling down the stairwell. I don't want to close the door because the heat rises up the stairwell and into the bedroom through the door:
Click on this photo to enlarge it and you'll see why I saved this photo. Madeline had a silly smile which reminded me of a happy little Troll Doll:
I have a series of pillows on the kitchen floor on which the dogs can get comfortable. I plan to add a few more to the collection (pillows, not dogs):
Winky kept a watchful eye on my every movement:
All the dogs except Winky. He was, at the time, by my feet:
I braced and painted the old cabinet which I'd salvaged from the roadside:
And I positioned an old lumberman's saw above the entrance to the living room. You can see the finished cabinet in there. The table just in front of it would be the next item painted:
