Chapter 1 - Winter in Plumbrook, New York

While up at the farm, I needed to drive to Massena to buy a few things and had already formulated a plan to detour along the way into three country hamlets for photos. The first was Plumbrook, sometimes spelled as one word, sometimes as two. It's officially in the town of Norfolk. I turned onto Plumbrook Road:

And passed by an old fashioned mechanic's shop:

And a series of nice, comfortable looking homes. As you can see, snow plowing is a good business up there:

A modular home with a motor home in the yard:

Lots of trees, lots of snow and a wonderful porch:

A few Christmas decorations still remained here, and a flagpole stood all alone out front in the snow:

A typical country home with a garage and a mailbox:

All trimmed in blue:

More modern:

A pleasant home sporting robin's egg blue siding:

A country home with small barns out back and lots of snow:

A small home all alone on the wintry plain, but with a boat out front as a reminder of warmer weather to come. But I was just getting starting in Plumbrook. I'll post more tomorrow:
