Chapter Three, Winthrop, New York

Still in the town center, I passed by the Spin-Dry Laundromat. I always wonder why they specify they're coin operated. What other option is there?:

A Self-Storage business, also on the banks of the St. Regis River:

A branch of Key Bank:

And more fine old homes with carriage houses out back:

Was that garage a former barn or built to be a garage? I suspected the latter:

A church:

A large and impressive house with what appeared to be numerous additions:

And what I at first took to be a town park, all full of odd statues and signs, etc:

The park certainly looked interesting, so I located an entrance road and pulled in to take a look:

I found this stone archway, eagle-topped clock and American flag waving Polar Bear:

When I got to the life-sized cow, I realized that this was not a park at all, but part of a display for the local greenhouse business. I supposed they welcomed visitors, however, and continued to look around:

After leaving the greenhouse grounds and bidding farewell to the Polar Bear, I continued on my driving tour, passing by this elaborate home. But there was lots more to see. I'll post Chapter Four tomorrow:
