I was touring the Adirondack and Christmas themed gift shop at Moody Tree Farm in Saranac Lake, New York (see Part 1, yesterday's post). There were singing and ice skating black bears:
And big, plush bears by a fireplace:
Owls, bears, reindeer, loons, pine cones, candles, pumpkins:
And fancy Christmas tree ornaments galore:
More fancy Christmas tree ornaments:
An old gas stove, used as a display table:
On this old Hoosier sat a painting on canvas with many starry, twinkling lights:
An entire room was devoted to balsam pillows, fragrances, and health and beauty aids:
A cabinet, filled with Balsam pillows of various sizes. I bought two small, plush animals, also filled with crushed Balsam needles. For those of you not familiar with Balsam, it is a conifer native to northeastern North America which is so wonderfully aromatic that its fragrance can fill up a forest. It's a pleasant, sweet and memorable smell:
In the back was a workroom where, it appeared, they made up wreaths, etc. I noticed a bin of crushed Balsam needles which, if I remember correctly, they were selling for $5.00 per pound:
A hallway filled with floral arrangements and wreaths. And yet there was still more to see at Moody Tree Farm. I'll post Part 3 tomorrow:
