White Hill Wild Forest With The Dogs - Part 2

The dogs and I hiked on the access road into the White Hill Wild Forest and I was enjoying the spectacular snowy beauty (see also Part 1, posted yesterday). But the time came to turn back toward our parked car and we began retracing our steps:

The dogs had slowed down by this time. They didn't seem to mind the cold, but I was beginning to be uncomfortable:

In fact, the dogs were happy and having all kinds of fun. As for me, I was enjoying the wintry beauty all around me:

The blue sky up ahead helped to make it all more beautiful:

The dogs ran ahead a short way, then ran back:

And then we all walked together. I don't suppose dogs appreciate beauty in the same way people do, but they sure do love to be outdoors, and this hike excited them more than usual:

It was all a wondrous delight for the eyes, if not for the temperatures:

And every time we broke out into a sunny spot, it seemed to get even more lovely:

Some scenes felt more like we were in Colorado than in New York:

The dogs stopped and waited for me while I caught up:

And then they again led the way:

The sunny spot up ahead meant we were almost back to our parked car. This area is so wild and untraveled that I hadn't even locked the doors:

The dogs ran toward the car with great excitement. Poor Seamus had trouble getting up into the car, so I helped him. I think his back legs were tired. We'd had a great time and saw magnificent winter beauty. I hope these photos helped you to share in our joy. Please take a moment and click on these photos to see them enlarged. The beauty was spectacular:

    1. Thanks. This was one of the most beautiful places I'll ever see, though the waterfall last autumn would be in the running also. I appreciate your comments. It's nice to know that people enjoy the blog.
