Cool, Clear Water On A Hot Day - Part 1

My sister was visiting but we only had one afternoon to do something with the dogs. The day was very hot, so we took the dogs to Clear Pond to cool off. They wasted no time getting into the water:

The mosquitoes and deer flies were out in force, so we decided to keep our stay brief, following the trail only to one water access after another, then watching the dogs have fun in the water:

The pond near the edge was shallow and had a sandy bottom, perfect for dogs to enjoy. Big, black Seamus was hot, so he went out to deeper water and sat down to where the water covered right up to his neck:

Pickerelweed was in bloom, so I moved in closer for a good photo of them:

And closer still. It really is amazing how much wild beauty we have all around us:

Little Clover waded in cautiously but then got right back out:

The other dogs were not so delicate and had a grand time:

After we'd made the most of each access to the water, we'd return to the trail and walk to the next access. This one had a floating log and more Pickerelweed in bloom, but neither one stopped the dogs from going in again:

Everyone was wet and happy when they got out, so they spent a few moments enjoying the grassy area beside the pond:

Jack likes to roll for joy, and made quite a show of it:

Fergus came over to investigate, but Jack merely continued rolling:

And then we all returned to the trail so we could walk to the next water access. I'll post Part 2 tomorrow:
