Pets In Winter

We've lived through some extreme cold this winter, but the indoor pets have escaped its rigors. Fergus has become especially fond of the new dog bed in the kitchen corner:

Clover likes the new dog bed too, but when Fergus is taking up all the space, she has lots of other soft places to nap:

The dogs have to go outside sometimes, though, even when it's extra cold. In fact, they enjoy it - but I bring them back in quickly, for which they are grateful. They're happy to go out and they're happy to come back in. These three happy dogs are Daphne, Seamus and Jack:

And if I'm at the computer, I often have company, forgoing the soft comforts in the kitchen corner. These loyal souls are Clover, Seamus and Fergus:

But the perennial favorite spot is the kitchen corner, with its collection of dog beds and floor pillows. This photo includes Jack, Rocky, Clover, Seamus and Bugsy:

Again near my chair at the computer: Seamus, Fergus and Daphne:

The dogs love being outside when it's not too cold. They enjoy barking furiously at everything that moves, every car which drives by, every leaf which falls. These are the three biggest barkers - Fergus, Seamus and Jack:

Upstairs in my bedroom, where it's warm and safe from cats, is my Siamese Fighting Fish named Fred. I feared he'd not live long, but he continues to thrive and even seems to enjoy life:

Also in the bedroom are Meghan and Ruby. They get fresh pine shavings, guinea pig pellets, Romaine lettuce and a carrot every morning. I also insist on petting them to keep them tame. They're fat and happy now, and love to be rubbed under their chins:

I'll end with one more kitchen corner collection: Bugsy, Fergus, Clover and Bramble:

  1. I always enjoy these interiors with pets, and while I've seen Fergus cuddle with Seamus before- always charming, the shot of Clover on top as well is the icing, so to speak, on the Seamus cake. Lovely.
