The trail from Moon Lake to Wolf Lake is only about a half mile long, but it seemed longer and traversed rocky, White Pine covered forests of exquisite beauty:
This country looked very much to me like lands I'd seen out west in my youth:
Pine needles covered the rocks and Reindeer Lichen grew everywhere. It was a sort of magical world:
I began to worry we'd missed Wolf Lake because the trail seemed much longer than a half mile:
But who could complain with such scenery in every direction?
Clover struck a classic pose, one of my favorite photos:
And then, as if by magic, there was Wolf Lake. I left the trail and began making my way right down to the shoreline:
The dogs figured out where we were going and why, getting all excited and picking up speed:
And raced right down to the water's edge:
Wolf Lake, a magnificent wilderness lake:
Seamus wasted no time getting himself a drink:
And then we began a bit of rock hopping, checking out the shoreline from atop the big rocks along the water's edge. This was exciting, and I wanted to see everything. but I'll post more tomorrow:
