"What If You Slept," A Poem by Samuel Taylor Coleridge

What if you slept

And what if

In your sleep

You dreamed

And what if

In your dream

You went to heaven

And there plucked a strange and beautiful flower

And what if

When you awoke

You had that flower in you hand

Ah, what then?

Sleepytime Corner - All Through The Night

You have probably noticed that I post a lot of photos of my dogs and cats sleeping together in the corner of the farm house kitchen. You also likely noticed that those photos were not very good because the corner was dimly lit and the walls were dark green. Well, I recently bought a used floor lamp for $12 which I've put in that corner and have since taken lots of pictures. I present some of them here, accompanied by the lyrics to the famous lullaby:

ALL THROUGH THE NIGHT

Sleep, my child, and peace attend thee, All through the night:

Guardian angels God will send thee, All through the night:

Soft the drowsy hours are creeping:

Hill and dale in slumber sleeping:

I my loved ones' watch am keeping, All through the night:

Angels watching, e'er around thee, All through the night:

Midnight slumber close surround thee, All through the night:

Soft the drowsy hours are creeping:

Hill and dale in slumber sleeping:

I my loved ones' watch am keeping, All through the night:

Guardian angels God will send thee, All through the night:

All through the night:
