Knapps Station, New York - Part 2

I'd found myself in Knapps Station, New York and was taking advantage of the scenery by snapping photos:

Christmas decorations on this home:

Set way back in the trees:

Closer to the road, but well hidden by trees:

And this home was set back behind the trees and behind a small river. It had terraced steps leading down to the water's edge:

An old farm house with an addition:

I couldn't tell if this was a home and barn or a business and barn. Or perhaps just barns. But it was all plowed out, so it was being used for something:

I began paying attention to road signs. I was, after all, supposed to be on my way to Massena:

Old farm house, multiple additions and a barn:

Knapps Station has a State Forest named after it and some day I'll explore that also. But it was time to find my way to Massena, so I stopped and checked my map. But I'll post more tomorrow:

Knapps Station, New York - Part 1

After my driving tours of Center Stockholm and North Stockholm, I'd intended to drive straight into Massena. But when the county road took me into Knapps Station, I of course had to grab my camera and start taking pictures:

There was lots more evidence of horse ownership:

And spectacular country estates set off by snow covered pines:

Woodsy homes surrounded by trees:

And this old, abandoned home. This is another photo especially worth enlarging. I sure wished I could have explored inside of it:

A beautiful farm house with what appeared to me to be grape vines:

A big, modern mega-church:

A smaller home with no sign of horses - except for that horse trailer:

Another small, comfortable looking home:

And what to me looked like a New England farmstead. I hadn't intended this driving tour through Knapps Station, but I was enjoying it. I'll post Part Two tomorrow:
