Happy Kitten News

Remember the post about the kitten from Tuesday, July 7th? I'd found a little kitten in my barn whose litter mates had been killed and brought him inside with the dogs and me. I then took him home to Albany and brought him to a friend who runs a rescue program at a local vet's office.

This friendly little fellow was named Rogan and went into foster care (with another friend I knew from my days volunteering at the Shelter) until he became big enough to neuter. Well, that day arrived and I am happy to announce that he's been adopted by a family who will provide him with an excellent home and already has another cat for him to play with.

Thanks to Barb and to Dell who took care of little Rogan and found him a great home. See? Some stories do have a happy ending.

23 Seconds Of Dogs At Play

On last weekend's visit to the farm I shot a brief video of Seamus and Fergus (with their silly new haircuts) playing on the lawn between the farm house and the barn. It's also a good shot of the rear of the house before the siding is installed. You can see the dog fence behind the house (which is not yet completed), the cedar tree notched into my porch deck and just briefly, the apple and pear trees. The fruit trees, I've noticed, are not producing much this year. They need pruning but I've also thought that I wouldn't know what to do with too many apples and pears anyway, so perhaps it's just as well.

Here's the pups at play:
